Our Child and Youth Protection Programme aims at providing children and youth with a safe environment
to develop and create everlasting positive friendships. We run After School Programmes which provide
educational enrichment, extracurricular activities, and care:
The After School Programme is available to at-risk boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 12. We work in partnership with primary schools, and the liaison teachers to select children who would most benefit from positive social and creative interventions. In the programme, we try to educate, boost the childrens' self-esteem, and present workshops that address problem solving without using violence. Every year we rejoice in the success of this programme as the children begin to grow and adopt more positive attitudes. We also work closely together with the children’s parents and our social workers do regular home visits.
Engaging youth in an activity or topic is not an easy feat, thus having an intention to capture their interest
takes planning. The great news is youth want to participate! Youth are capable of contributing vast expertise
and creative solutions related to their own lives, the services they receive and communities. It is also true
that being taught skills and new behaviours is one of the essential ingredients to successful adult partnership.
For our youth programme, we created a "7 point impact plan" due to which we seek to improve their educational
attainment as well as their health and well-being and to increase their participation in community life, achieve
social inclusion, improve their environment, and build understandings of gender equality and empowerment in their minds.
As part of our Youth and Child Protection Programme, we regularly organise outings and offer art therapy,
music therapy, and a surfing course.
